Decision-making procedures

The society makes decisions through meetings and voting. All decisions are recorded in minutes and tracked to completion.

Committee decisions

  • Made during committee meetings or via emergency email vote (if time-critical)
  • Simple majority vote (50% + 1) required
  • Results recorded in minutes with vote count
  • In rare cases, consensus preferred but not required
  • Decisions binding once recorded in minutes
  • Emergency email decisions ratified at next meeting

Member decisions

  • Made at general meetings or AGMs
  • One vote per member (present or by proxy)
  • Simple majority vote required
  • Special resolutions (constitutional changes) may require higher threshold per Constitution
  • Results recorded with vote counts
