Committee roles and responsibilities¶
The committee manages the society between Annual General Meetings. Committee members hold offices and portfolios as defined by the Constitution.
Core roles¶
Chair Leads committee meetings and society events. Signs official documents and represents BPNZ publicly.
Vice-Chair Deputises for the Chair. Assumes all Chair duties in their absence.
Treasurer Manages finances, bank accounts, and payment approvals. Prepares annual financial statements and GST returns if applicable.
Secretary Records meeting minutes, manages correspondence, maintains records, and handles statutory notifications.
Portfolio holders¶
Committee members may also hold portfolios such as:
- Media and communications
- Events and community engagement
- Policy and research
- Technology and operations
Subcommittees (current)¶
- Membership: membership drive, newsletter, handbook/GitHub repo
- Elections: engage journalists, politicians, write articles, generate media coverage
